Canadian red cedar doesn't generally need to be treated. However, there are benefits to doing so! Here are the facts:

1. takes on its beautiful, silvery-grey patina after one season
2. seals itself against weathering
3. never needs to be oiled or painted - this saves time and money.
4. but: it is more sensitive to dirt

- fuels and preserves the natural beauty of the wood.

- protects the surface against contamination

- extends the service life.

- is easier to clean

- must be every 4-5 years

Painting must be repeated

Order your chairs from us finely sanded and pre-assembled. After complete assembly, carefully apply three coats of paint the first time. Please sand briefly after the first coat. This will bring out the wood grain's brilliance and texture.
